Making Wellness a Way of Life
Indian head massage
What Is Indian Head Massage?
Indian Head massage is based on the ancient healing system called Ayurveda.
The massage is invigorating, revitalizing and an uplifting treatment working on the upper back, shoulders, scalp and face. These areas are massaged with a firm and gentle rhythmic fashion involving Marma points (acupressure points)
Traditionally Ayurveda oils are massaged into the scalp for their many therapeutic properties. The use of Oils are optional.
This particular form of massage can be used to relieve eye strain, insomnia, migraines, stiff necks and shoulders along with headaches. it also relaxes and tones the facial muscles and stimulates and nourishes the hair and scalp, if used with oils.
For more complex conditions, a course of treatments may be advisable, but once you discover the benefits of Indian Head Massage, you may decide to have a Indian head Massage on a regular basis.
The Indian Head Massage is normally performed sitting, fully clothed, at Portofino we only offer a 60 min option where by the first 30 mins are on the table and focus on the full back and shoulders, the last 30 mins is on a chair fully clothed .
